FREE OXFORD CYBER SECURITY EVENT - MAY 24
We are delighted to announce that we are holding a free event at Saïd Business School in Oxford for local SMEs entitled 'Understanding the Risks of Cyber Attacks' on Thursday 24th May 2018 at 6pm.
The event will give you practical advice on protecting your business from cyber attacks – including a live hacking demonstration - while offering you the opportunity to share your recent experiences and network with other local businesses over cocktails. All attending organisations will be entered in to a prize draw with the opportunity to win a free phishing campaign worth £2000.
Topics covered will include the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which comes into force the day after the event, ISO 27001 certification, the government's Cyber Essentials scheme, ransomware and social engineering, where your own staff inadvertently expose your company to risk.
Our CCO, Rob Embers, says: "SMEs in particular are facing a plethora of challenges when it comes to keeping their information secure in the online world. With cyber crime becoming more complex and consumers growing more aware of the value and safeguarding of their data, it's clear that security lapses can entail punishing financial, reputational and commercial penalties. Company owners are urgently seeking ways to mitigate these risks."
We're excited to meet more local businesses at our event and share our knowledge of the latest security tools and techniques that other SMEs are employing to combat online threats and prevent their data from falling into the wrong hands.
"Understanding the Risks of Cyber Attacks" is free to attend and will be held at Saïd Business School Club room in Oxford.
