Cyber security company expands, despite economic downturn
September 2011
Dionach, a global information security consultancy with a headquarters in Oxon, UK is capitalising on the increased concern companies are showing for information security by opening a new European office.Bil Bragg, Director of Security at Dionach, said: "Dionach is expanding - financially and geographically - due to the surge in the information security market. With online attacks high in the headlines and tech developments such as smart phones creating new loopholes for hackers, companies are showing increased concern for protecting themselves against cyber crime.
"Dionach has recognised an opportunity to bring its expertise and quality to the Benelux markets. It’s part of our future growth strategy to become Europe’s leading information security company."
With offices already established in Oxon, UK and Abu Dhabi (UAE), Dionach opened its European office in Amersfoort, Netherlands on 22nd August. This has created five new jobs, a figure which is set to double within the next 12 months.
Despite the economic downturn, Dionach has seen a 23% growth in business over the last year, suggesting information security is a fertile industry.
With the US government’s diplomatic efforts earlier this year to convince NATO countries to join forces against cyber criminals, it’s become increasingly apparent that cyber crime is a global issue. Dionach clients are benefiting from the company’s geographical expansion as teams share expertise from around the world while also having a local knowledge of individual clients’ needs.
Dionach achieved elite CREST (Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers) approval in July 2011, making it one of only 25 information security companies in the UK to do so. Passing CREST's rigorous entry criteria not only puts Dionach in the minority but also positions this small, limited company alongside big brands including PriceWaterhouseCoopers and BT Group PLC.
